I crossed the border into Panama to renew my Costa Rican visa (it lasts for 90 days every time you re-enter the country) and met an Englishman and a Kiwi at the Lost and Found Jungle hostel (a good place to stop if you are bussing from the Pacific side over to Bocas del Toro on the Caribbean coast). After going for a nice hike in Hornito, we decided to head to Boquete and it would just happened to be Panama’s Independence Day (November 28) when we got there.
There are marching bands from 8am until around midnight, starting with the youngest first and getting older with the day. I captured photos and video over the course of about an hour so this is just one or two age groups. The last photo of the stage is the President of Panama. Each band stops and performs in front of his entourage on their way about town.
